Logo.com: Making Logo Designing Easy And Hassle Free

When you’re at the cusp of starting a new business of a side project, designing a logo might not be your first concern.

However, giving your idea a visual identity communicates it in a way that words can’t. A good logo can help you strengthen your brand identity and offer a great support system in building trust and goodwill.

To understand the importance of logo and logo design, we spoke to Richard Lau, a well-known name throughout the domain industry, the mastermind behind the NamesCon Conference, Resume.com (now sold to Indeed), and now, Logo.com, a super-fast, automated logo generator.

1.  What is the story behind Logo.com?

Having been in the online business since the late ’90s, we’ve interacted with hundreds of entrepreneurs launching new businesses and saw the need for new logos as an evergreen business.

Over the years, we’ve spent as little as a few dollars, up to several thousand dollars creating logos. Sometimes with surprisingly little difference in the end product. The existing services all had issues that we thought should be addressed with computing power and software programming.

Human designers are creative, however, therein lies a huge friction point. The back-and-forth, as you set the designer on a path, follows with them waiting for feedback from you, and the circle continues.

In the meantime, your idea is being held up by something that should be decided and finished within hours, if not minutes. A logo design contest can be fun, but also adds unnecessary obstacles.

When we came across the Logo.com domain opportunity, we knew we had a winner on our hands. We are combining our in-house algorithms, AI programming and machine learning with the perfect domain: Logo.com.

Our goal is to provide the best quality, automated logo maker to entrepreneurs, solopreneurs, small business owners, photographers, and website builders.

Matching aggressive pricing with high-quality, unique logos all sold from the self-explanatory Logo.com brand, we are solving a problem that so many people are facing when launching a new service: how to get a unique logo, quickly, without breaking the bank.

2. What is the story behind your domain name – www.logo.com?

Logo.com had a high-touch logo service on it before. This was simply taking the old-school approach of high-end, boutique creative agency service and putting it online.

At the end of the day, it wasn’t scalable. We then took over the Logo.com brand and married it with a third-party logo maker. The problem there was that the quality of logos being produced was poor.

Being that we didn’t have access to the raw code, we decided to shelf the website while we went back to the drawing board so to speak.

Now, we have spent over a year building the back-end from scratch. All in-house code with local programmers.

We know that pairing a top-quality product on the category-defining name is a winner. Using Logo.com explains thoroughly to our customers that we live and breath logo design.

3. Who is your ideal customer? Can you share a few success stories with us?

Customers of Logo.com cover individuals launching a side-gig, small businesses doing a brand refresh, churches, photographers, yoga studios, and domain name logos.

Our ideal customer is anyone who otherwise might look to spend up to $500 on designing their logo online. This ideal customer can save most of that money and get a top-quality design from Logo.com in a matter of minutes.

We have watched logo orders come in and be installed on a customer’s website within minutes. Recently a Las Vegas Tradeshow Exhibit Booth company wanted a brand refresh.

They took a design from our Logo.com logo maker, and within 20 mins had it on their website. It’s an honor for us at Logo.com to be able to help thousands of new business owners with their logo needs.

4. Can you share some insights about visual branding that new business owners often overlook?

Example of a logo design

Logo design is an art. And taking a programmatic approach to design is an art in itself. You don’t necessarily know what you want until you see it.

Logo design is a transference of feeling. You are speaking to your potential customers about your brand.

Logo design is a really interesting challenge that can be understood when you slow down and actually look at the logos you see as you walk down the street, or move from website to website.

There are dozens if not hundreds of rules that are being applied, and most of these can be input into an AI algorithm to shorten the timeline from start to finding your logo that fits.

One major aspect that new business owners overlook is that simpler is better. We have seen many over-designed logos that try to incorporate too many details or try to communicate too many aspects.

What ends up coming through is a design that might look great blown-up on a T-shirt, but that fails when placed in the top corner of a website, or on a business card.

Take a walk through a shopping mall and look at every logo on every store. You might notice that the smaller the store, the more detailed the drawings incorporated into their logo.

Larger firms clearly communicate their brand. Our designs on Logo.com do the same. The modern trend is clean lines, bold text, and simple, clear communication.

5. What are your future plans for Logo.com?

While our customers are happy with the designs we are creating for them, we are excited about the feature list we have created for the continuous improvement to the Logo.com logo maker.

We are always listening to our customers to add to and refine the logo creation process.

Additionally, we will be adding domains, a website builder and business cards to the product mix.

Everything a new business needs for its brand should be available at Logo.com – after they’ve created their perfect logo of course.

6. How can a new solopreneur get started with Logo.com?

It’s something you have to see to believe. All you need is a name; everything else is optional or can be generated by our system. And since you don’t pay until after you’ve decided on the perfect design, it’s completely risk-free.

We generate dozens of versions of your logo and allow you to tweak the colors, placement, font, and icons. Your download package has your logo design in many different sizes and file types.

You will be ready to promote it on social media, place it on your website and print it on business cards or merchandise like mugs, bags, and t-shirts.

Within a few minutes, you can go from name to idea to downloading your new logo. It’s amazing, risk-free and easy. Check out the logo maker here to get started.
